The concept of Steps for the future is to produce a collection of films which can be used to stimulate debate around HIV / AIDS and in particular be used to counter stigma and discrimination around people who are HIV+ or have AIDS.

To reach across the subcontinent of Southern Africa, and even further afield, a selection of films have been versioned into different local languages. These versions are dubbed so that the audio–visual medium can be used to its full potential without excluding people who are not literate.
